Donald Trump isn't mincing words – or digital real estate. The former president has officially escalated his long-running feud with the media, launching a dedicated "Media Offender of the Week" and "Hall of Shame" section on the White House website. It's a bold move, even for Trump, and it's already generating a lot of buzz (and outrage, naturally).

Announced Friday amidst the usual flurry of Truth Social posts, the new page promises to chronicle what the administration deems "false and misleading stories flagged by The White House." Think of it as a digital blacklist, complete with a "Hall of Shame" spanning several months of perceived journalistic sins. The site urges visitors to "Scroll for the Truth," implicitly suggesting that anything outside its curated content is, well, untruthful. It's a pretty heavy-handed approach, even for a presidency known for its combative relationship with the press.

One of the more eyebrow-raising targets is CBS News, particularly given David Ellison's potential acquisition of its parent company and Bari Weiss's influence there. The specific offense? CBS's coverage of Trump's reaction to Senator Mark Kelly (D-AZ) and other members of Congress who urged troops to disobey illegal orders. Trump responded with online posts accusing them of "SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH," and even reposted a comment calling for their "HANG[ING]." Yikes.

The White House argues that the media "misrepresented President Trump's call for Members of Congress to be held accountable for inciting sedition by saying that he called for their 'execution.'" They sidestep the actual "execution" part of the story, conveniently claiming that "President Trump has never issued an illegal order." It's a classic example of framing the narrative – or, as critics would say, spinning it. And that tactic, of course, isn't new.

Beyond CBS, The Boston Globe and The Independent also find themselves in the "Offender" spotlight. The site lists dozens of TV segments, newspaper articles, and online pieces deemed unfavorable. A "Hall of Shame" leaderboard prominently features The Washington Post (owned by Jeff Bezos, a frequent Trump target), CNN, and MSNBC. Even CBS News makes a return appearance.

The whole thing has a distinctly PowerPoint-esque aesthetic, complete with a word cloud of alleged offenders. While late-night comedians are spared this time around (perhaps they're seen as too predictable a target?), even some typically MAGA-friendly outlets aren't immune to the White House's scrutiny. It just goes to show you – nobody is safe from the Trump administration's media critique.
