Istanbul's BIST 100 index experienced a slight dip in the first half of trading today, November 28th, 2025, reflecting a somewhat cautious mood among investors. The benchmark index closed the morning session at 10,939.29 points, a decrease of 0.06% compared to yesterday's close. That translates to a fall of 6.19 points, nothing dramatic, but certainly a noticeable wobble.

Trading volume reached a respectable 45.3 billion lira, indicating that while there might be some uncertainty, activity hasn’t dried up completely. Sector performance was mixed, as always. The banking sector showed some resilience, climbing 0.34%, while holding companies took a bit of a hit, dropping 0.41%. Interestingly, transportation stocks were the day's winners so far, surging 0.98%. However, mining stocks weren't having a good day, plummeting a hefty 4.15%. It's always fascinating to see which sectors are leading the charge and which are dragging their feet.

Looking at the bigger picture, global markets are currently riding a wave of optimism fueled by speculation that the U.S. Federal Reserve might decide to lower interest rates as early as December. This prospect is generally seen as positive, injecting liquidity and potentially boosting economic activity. However, not everything is rosy. There are definitely some undercurrents of concern swirling around. Macroeconomic data coming out of Japan has been less than stellar, and the ongoing saga of China's real estate market continues to cast a shadow over global economic prospects. These factors are definitely tempering the enthusiasm and keeping a lid on risk appetite.

Analysts are suggesting that investors will be keeping a close watch on a couple of key data points in the coming days. Domestically, the monthly money and banking statistics will be scrutinized for any indications of underlying trends. Internationally, German inflation data will be in the spotlight, as Germany’s economic health is often seen as a bellwether for the entire Eurozone. As for technical analysis, the experts are pointing to support levels for the BIST 100 at 10,800 and 10,700 points. On the upside, resistance is seen at 11,000 and 11,100 points. So, it looks like we're set for a potentially volatile afternoon session as the market seeks direction. We’ll have to wait and see where the day ends up, but it’s clear that several competing forces are at play right now.
