Call of Duty Battle Pass SHOCK! Black Ops 7 Changes EVERYTHING!

Call of Duty Battle Pass SHOCK! Black Ops 7 Changes EVERYTHING!
Gaming News 25 November 2025

Activision is shaking things up with the Call of Duty battle pass, and it sounds like players are going to benefit. For Season 1 of Black Ops 7, the company is promising a much faster progression system. This is welcome news, especially considering the community has been pretty vocal about the grind involved in past seasons.

Call of Duty Battle Pass SHOCK! Black Ops 7 Change...

Let's be honest, for years, unlocking everything in the Call of Duty battle pass felt like a part-time job, even if you shelled out for the premium or BlackCell versions. It’s great to see Activision finally acknowledge the issue and, more importantly, do something about it.

According to a recent blog post from Activision themselves, they've "taken learnings" from the Black Ops 6 battle pass completion times. They’re implementing some adjustments to make the Black Ops 7 battle pass a "more satisfying journey." The ultimate goal is to ensure that each season's battle pass feels "more rewarding for your time spent in-game, no matter where you’re playing across all parts of the game." In other words, whether you're a Multiplayer fiend, a Zombies slayer, or a Warzone warrior, your time will be better spent.

So, what exactly are these changes? Well, for starters, the earlier pages of the battle pass should be quicker to complete, requiring fewer tiers to unlock the High-Value Target (HVT) content. The later pages will feature more rewards to keep you playing. This means you'll earn the good stuff faster, no matter where you are in those 100 tiers. This could be a game changer, provided the good stuff is actually *good* and not just filler.

But here's the really interesting part: for the first time, players can earn battle pass tokens by completing daily challenges! These challenges will be available across Multiplayer, Zombies, Call of Duty: Warzone, Co-Op Campaign, and even Endgame. On certain days, completing a bonus daily challenge will net you a battle pass token, which you can then redeem for a tier unlock. This is a fantastic addition, especially for those who can't dedicate hours every day to grinding through matches. It rewards consistent play and smart challenge completion.

While the increased content on later pages could potentially balance out the overall progression speed, the initial changes sound like a significant step in the right direction. The Season 1 battle pass boasts up to 1,100 COD Points, 11 operator skins, 26 blueprints and weapons, and a total of 119 rewards. Twenty-three of those are free, including two new base weapons. You can buy the battle pass for 1,100 COD Points, or get a bundle for 2,400 COD Points that includes 20 Tokens. Is it enough to overcome some of the other challenges Activision and Black Ops 7 are facing? Time will tell.

This announcement comes on the heels of reports suggesting Black Ops 7 sales are trailing behind both Battlefield 6 and, surprisingly, even Black Ops 6. Activision has yet to release official sales figures or comment on the game's performance. Microsoft, too, has remained tight-lipped about whether Black Ops 7 has given Game Pass subscriptions a boost. It seems like everyone is waiting to see how these changes shake out.
