Alright folks, gather 'round card game enthusiasts! It looks like Riot's *Riftbound* is about to get a serious shake-up. Following the *Origins* set, we're finally getting a glimpse into what the *Spiritforged* expansion has to offer, and let me tell you, it's looking pretty darn exciting.

Game Informer snagged the exclusive reveal, and what a reveal it is! We're talking about Jax, Unrelenting, a new Champion card that's poised to make a splash in the meta. Now, for those of you who, like myself, have spent countless hours yelling at our monitors playing *League of Legends*, you know Jax. The Grandmaster at Arms, the last weaponmaster of Icathia, the guy who beats you down with a lamppost. Good times.

This card captures that essence perfectly. Jax, Unrelenting is an Orange (Body) Champion, sitting at 3 Might for a cost of 4 and one Body Rune. Seems pretty standard at first glance, right? Wrong. It’s all about the ability: Weaponmaster. This beauty lets you equip an existing piece of Equipment onto Jax for *one Rune less*, even if that equipment is already attached to something else. Think about that for a second. Suddenly, that Long Sword you were holding onto? Free real estate. And if you see the new equipment cards that are coming up in the set, Jax will be an essential part of many strategies.

But wait, there's more! Because just having a beefed-up Jax wasn't enough, apparently. When you attach an Equipment to him, you can pay 1 to draw a card. Now *that's* value. It's card draw, it's tempo, it's everything you want in a late-game push. I can already see the decks brewing, filled with ways to generate equipment and then just cycle through your entire deck with Jax, Unrelenting leading the charge. It also plays nicely into his Legend card, Grandmaster at Arms, which focuses on manipulating Equipment. Basically, you want to get Jax down, start equipping everything in sight, and overwhelm your opponent with both board presence and card advantage.

Honestly, I'm pretty stoked about this. *Spiritforged* seems to be leaning heavily into Equipment synergy, and Jax is the perfect poster child. The release is slated for December 2025 in China and February 2026 in English, so we've got a bit of a wait. But if this card is anything to go by, it's going to be worth it. Get ready to dodge those lampposts, folks. *Riftbound* is about to get interesting.
