Used Car Prices PLUMMET in October! What's Causing This?!
Automotive 24 November 2025

Good news for used car shoppers in Turkey! According to a new report from Sahibinden.com, October brought a bit of relief to wallets as used car prices showed a noticeable dip. We're talking real purchasing power advantages here, folks. It's a welcome change after what felt like a relentless climb in prices over the past couple of years.

Used Car Prices PLUMMET in October! What's Causing...

The report indicates that while prices were pretty much stable compared to September, they actually decreased by a solid 8% compared to October of last year. That's a significant drop! To put it in concrete numbers, the average used car price in Turkey for October came in at ₺1,086,000. That's still a hefty chunk of change, but it's moving in the right direction.

Interestingly, the report also breaks down prices by age of the vehicle. It seems activity is consistent across all age brackets. The average price for a 2019 model was ₺1,407,000, while a 2020 went for around ₺1,611,000. 2021 models averaged ₺1,616,000, 2022 models were at ₺1,785,000, and 2023 models fetched ₺1,943,000. Even the newest used cars, the 2024 models, saw a slight decrease of 0.6%, averaging ₺2,046,000. It's fascinating to see how quickly depreciation kicks in, even in a market where demand is high.

Across different vehicle classes, we saw moderate increases both annually and monthly. The B segment (think smaller, city cars) experienced the highest annual price change, jumping by 26%. Meanwhile, the E segment (larger, more luxurious cars) saw the smallest increase, at 21.5%. The C segment (compact cars) saw a 25.4% increase, and the D segment (mid-size cars) saw a 24% increase. Average prices in these segments were ₺717,211 for B, ₺960,603 for C, ₺1,379,000 for D, and a whopping ₺2,245,000 for E segment vehicles. It really highlights the premium you pay for size and luxury.

Fuel type also plays a role, of course. According to the October data, average prices increased slightly for all fuel types with one exception: electric vehicles. Gasoline cars averaged ₺1,335,000, while those running on both gasoline and LPG were much more affordable at ₺579,680. Diesel vehicles averaged ₺1,063,000, hybrid vehicles commanded ₺2,434,000, and electric vehicles topped the charts at ₺3,697,000. It seems the "green premium" is still very much in effect.

Looking at the annual price change rates, gasoline vehicles showed a 20.9% change, gasoline & LPG vehicles 16.6%, diesel vehicles 18.4%, hybrid vehicles 13.9%, and electric vehicles 14.3%. While those percentages might seem high, remember that the overall trend is downward compared to earlier in the year. So, if you're in the market for a used car, now might be a slightly better time to pull the trigger than it was a few months ago. Just remember to do your research and shop around!
