Rupert Grint's Letter to New Ron Weasley Will SHOCK Harry Potter Fans!
Movies & TV Series 24 November 2025

Rupert Grint, the man we all know and love as Ron Weasley, has apparently taken the time to reach out to the new generation of Hogwarts students. In a truly heartwarming gesture, Grint penned a letter to Alastair Stout, the actor who's set to inherit the iconic role of Ron in the upcoming "Harry Potter" HBO series. It's a passing of the torch, a bit of seasoned advice from someone who knows exactly what that young actor is about to step into.

Rupert Grint's Letter to New Ron Weasley Will SHOC...

Grint revealed the details in a recent interview with BBC News, saying, "I wrote him a letter, before they started, passing the baton as it were. It was really just wishing him all the best with it. I had so much fun stepping into this world, and I hope he has the same experience.” He even noted a "bit of family resemblance" between himself and Stout, which is a fun little detail. I can just imagine the nervous excitement Stout must be feeling, and what a confidence boost it would be to hear from the original Ron Weasley himself.

It's not just Grint, either. Last week, Daniel Radcliffe, the boy who lived himself, disclosed that he also reached out to Dominic McLaughlin, the new Harry Potter. Radcliffe's reaction was particularly endearing, saying, “I just see these pictures of him and the other kids and I just want to hug them. They just seem so young. I just look at them and say, ‘Oh it’s crazy I was doing that at that age.’ But it’s also incredibly sweet, and I hope they’re having a great time.” You can really sense the protectiveness and genuine care he feels for these young actors embarking on this massive journey. It must be so surreal for them to see this story get retold and relived.

While Grint has expressed openness to potentially revisiting the Potter universe down the line, he made it clear that it's not something he's actively pursuing. He seems content to let the new series take its course and forge its own path. And speaking of revisiting old roles, Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) has been killing it on Broadway, earning rave reviews for his performance in "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child." Seems like everyone's keeping busy in their own corner of the Wizarding World!

Filming for the "Harry Potter" series has reportedly been underway for months, with McLaughlin, Stout, and Arabella Stanton (Hermione Granger) leading the charge. The cast is rounded out by some impressive names, including Nick Frost as Hagrid, John Lithgow as Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as McGonagall, and Paapa Essiedu as Snape. It’s a pretty formidable lineup, and while some fans might be skeptical of a reboot, it's hard not to be a little curious to see how this new take on the beloved story unfolds. One thing's for sure, the original cast's support is a fantastic way to kick things off. Strange to see the cycle begin anew, as Rupert mentioned.
