Cairo is gearing up for its 46th International Film Festival, and this year's edition promises to be a cinematic feast, headlined by the appointment of acclaimed Turkish director Nuri Bilge Ceylan as president of the jury. The festival, scheduled to run from November 12th to 21st, will see Ceylan leading the international competition, bringing his discerning eye and profound understanding of cinema to the selection process.

Ceylan's involvement extends beyond jury duties. The festival will also honor his significant contribution to filmmaking with a Retrospective section showcasing three of his most celebrated works: "Once Upon a Time in Anatolia," "The Wild Pear Tree," and "Distant." This provides a unique opportunity for audiences to delve into the director's distinct style, characterized by its contemplative pacing, breathtaking visuals, and exploration of complex human relationships.

From November 15th to 21st, a dedicated Türkiye stand will be established, providing a hub for Turkish industry representatives to connect with international producers, directors, distributors, sales representatives, and other film professionals. This initiative aims to foster co-productions, distribution deals, and further strengthen the ties between the Turkish film industry and the global cinematic landscape.
