## The Video Games You Should Play This Weekend – November 21
🎮 Weekend Warriors, Level Up! Hot New Games You Ca...
Devil's Night. Christmas Eve. July 3rd. Many holidays boast names for their eve, but what of the Friday before Thanksgiving? Sadly, it remains nameless, and I'm drawing a blank on compelling suggestions. However, I do offer a selection of video games worthy of your undivided weekend attention. Look, let's be honest, it's almost Thanksgiving, you're probably already in a food coma pre-emptively. Games are the perfect solution.
Also, don't forget to cast your vote for the year's best games! I know, I know, it feels a little premature, but deadlines are deadlines, folks. Such is the nature of print media. We embrace it, though. We cherish magazines, especially in a digital world. It’s a tangible thing, something you can actually hold. Anyway, speaking of things to do, Friday has arrived, ushering in the weekend and our customary recommendations of games and other diversions. But first, a quick recap of the week's top stories:

**The Games You Should Check Out This Weekend**
**Lumines Arise** *Matt Miller*
Seriously, don't let the recent release of the new *Lumines* game pass you by. *Arise* treats the long-running block-dropping music game in a similar vein to 2018's *Tetris Effect*, adding flashy new gameplay mechanics and community features while retaining the immersive core of the series. The result is a mind-bending puzzle experience that induces "flow" like few others. It’s almost meditative, in a frantic, puzzle-solving kind of way. Mastering *Lumines* is a long journey, but this new installment aids players with multiple difficulties, tutorial-style challenges, and more. Just remember your headphones; you're going to want to get lost in the music. You can read *Game Informer's Lumines Arise* review by following the link.
**Call of Duty: Black Ops 7** *Matt Miller*
Aiming to shake up the formula, *Black Ops 7* veers into weirder territory with its newest explosive campaign, offering hallucinogenic experiences that explore warfare and violence through a mind-warped perspective. Look, I’ll be honest, I’m not always a *Call of Duty* guy, but this sounds…interesting. Of course, the short but bombastic campaign is only one small part of the larger package, which this year includes a wealth of updates to the multiplayer experience, a new approach to Zombies, as well as a reworked approach to movement to lean into fast, agile traversal through play spaces. As part of an ever-renewing formula, it's hard for *Black Ops 7* to completely break the mold, but developers Treyarch and Raven have done an impressive job this year providing some new twists on what we've come to expect. **Kirby Air Riders** *Charles Harte*
I’ll have to let my colleague Charles finish that thought! Have a good weekend everyone!
