Okay, folks, you're not going to believe this one. I had to read the press release twice myself. Apparently, Agent 47, the stoic assassin of the *Hitman* franchise, is about to embark on a mission unlike any other. His target? Slim Shady. Yes, *that* Slim Shady. And the client giving the order? None other than Eminem himself.
Eminem's Target? SHOCKING New Hitman Level Leaves ...
I know, right? It sounds like something cooked up in a fever dream, but according to reports, this is a legitimate, upcoming Elusive Target mission in *Hitman: World of Assassination*. The premise is that Slim Shady, Eminem's, shall we say, *unhinged* alter-ego, has become a threat to the real Slim Shady, or Eminem as he prefers to be called these days. Apparently, the OG Marshall Mathers is genuinely concerned that his creation is going to come after him. So, what's a rapper to do? Hire a world-class assassin, of course.
For those unfamiliar with *Hitman's* Elusive Targets, these missions are a real test of skill. Unlike typical targets, they don't conveniently glow red when you activate your "instinct" vision. You actually have to rely on your wits, gather intel, and meticulously track your target. Think of it as a true espionage challenge. And, crucially, you only get one shot. Mess it up, and the mission is failed forever. No do-overs. It's that kind of pressure that makes these Elusive Target missions so compelling.
This isn't the first time *Hitman* has dabbled in the celebrity sphere. I remember one mission where Agent 47 was tasked with protecting a famous musician, only to discover they were involved in some seriously shady dealings (pun intended). But this Eminem/Slim Shady situation takes the cake. I mean, the sheer audacity of it is brilliant. It's a perfect blend of pop culture absurdity and the dark, strategic gameplay that *Hitman* is known for. I'm genuinely curious to see how IO Interactive pulls this off, and how they weave Eminem's music and persona into the mission's narrative and atmosphere. I personally think that they should put in some easter eggs referencing the whole deal with Benzino.
Speaking of IO Interactive, they've got a lot on their plate. Beyond *Hitman*, they're gearing up for the release of *007: First Light* next year. That's right, they are making an original James Bond story. This new game focuses on Bond's early days as a 00 agent. The hype is real, especially after that trailer dropped during the Xbox Partner Preview Showcase showing off the Aston Martin Valhalla. The next game will be released in March of 2026. But for now, I think the gaming community is mostly wondering about the Slim Shady of it all. Personally, I can't wait to see how this mission plays out, and whether or not I can finally put Slim Shady to rest (in-game, of course!).
