Time's Running Out: PS Plus Games Leaving December 16th
Another month, another refresh for the PlayStation Plus library. As a seasoned gamer, I know this drill all too well: the thrill of new additions mixed with the pang of saying goodbye to others. So, what's biting the dust this December?
PS Plus Purge: Fan Favorites Face the Digital Axe ...
Well, if you've been procrastinating on diving into the vibrant open world of *Sonic Frontiers*, the magic-infused adventure of *Forspoken*, or the large-scale warfare of *Battlefield 2042*, you're officially on notice. These titles, along with a few others we haven't space to list in full here, are scheduled to vanish from the PS Plus service on December 16th.
Look, I get it
Look, I get it. Life gets in the way. We all have that backlog of games we swear we'll get to "someday." But sometimes, "someday" never comes. And in this case, delaying means missing out entirely, unless you plan on purchasing them outright. I’ve been there, staring forlornly at the digital storefront, wishing I hadn't slept on that free weekend.
But hey, it’s not all doom and gloom! The PS Plus gods giveth, and the PS Plus gods taketh away. In this case, they're giveth-ing some seriously heavy hitters. Get ready to welcome *Grand Theft Auto V*, a title that needs absolutely no introduction, into the fold. Rockstar's open-world behemoth remains a must-play, even all these years later.
And it doesn't stop there. We're also getting *Red Dead Redemption*, another Rockstar masterpiece. If you like sprawling Western landscapes and gritty storytelling, trust me, you're in for a treat.
But it's not just about the
But it's not just about the big names, is it? It's also about those quirky indie gems that surprise and delight. This month, we're also seeing the addition of *Pacific Drive*, a first-person driving survival game, and *Still Wakes the Deep*, a story-driven horror game. Both sound very intriguing, and it's these kinds of additions that keep the PS Plus library interesting.
Want the full, comprehensive list of games coming and going? You can find it all over the internet, but IGN, as always, has you covered. (Props to Vikki Blake, critic and all-around gaming guru over there - she knows her stuff.)
So, there you have it. A mixed bag of gaming news to kick off December. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a date with *Sonic Frontiers* before it disappears... wish me luck!
