Diplomacy is Definitely Off the Table: "Diplomacy is Not an Option" Unleashes Undead Rework
Okay, strategy fans, brace yourselves. If you're like me and enjoy sinking countless hours into base-building and fending off hordes of, well, anything, then you need to hear about this. "Diplomacy is Not an Option," that intensely challenging survival RTS where pausing is your best friend, just dropped a major Undead Rework update. And judging by the trailer, it's going to be gloriously, gruesomely good.
Zombie Apocalypse: No Talking, Just Brains! New Un...
The trailer, which I just watched (and might watch again later, to be honest), gives us a deep dive into what to expect. We’re not just talking about a fresh coat of paint here, people. The Undead faction is getting a complete overhaul. The crown jewel? A brand new, exclusive research tree boasting a whopping 64 individual techs. That's enough to keep even the most dedicated armchair general busy for, oh, about a century.
But the tech tree is just the beginning
But the tech tree is just the beginning. Prepare to meet some seriously nasty new undead units. Forget your run-of-the-mill skeletons and zombies. We're talking Hunting Fiends, Flesh Collectors (shudder), and the utterly intimidating Thundering Amalgam. And the names of the two new Drakes? Inspired, I tell you, simply inspired - the Drake of Progressive Rock and the Drake of Hard Rock. What better way to crush your enemies than with a perfectly timed guitar riff?
Beyond the unit roster, the update tackles the game's economy. As anyone who's played "Diplomacy is Not an Option" knows, resource management is critical. From what I can tell, the rework looks to make things more strategic and engaging, forcing players to adapt and optimize their undead empires. New buildings are also coming, which will undoubtedly further enhance your base-building options.
Speaking of bases, there’s also a rework of the base expansion mechanic. This could significantly change how players approach the early to mid-game, so it'll be interesting to see how the community adapts.
"Diplomacy is Not an Option" is available now on PC through Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, and Humble. And the best part? The Undead Rework update is already live! So, if you're looking for a challenging and rewarding RTS experience with a healthy dose of undead mayhem, you know what to do. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have an undead empire to build – and some rocks to throw.
