"While closely communicating with the U.S. side, (we) will continue (efforts) to secure support for our policy toward North Korea," Ambassador Kang stated, emphasizing the importance of a coordinated approach. She further elaborated that the South Korean government, in partnership with the United States, intends to actively cultivate conditions that would facilitate both inter-Korean dialogue and direct talks between North Korea and the US.

Acknowledging the "complex" and "uncertain" international environment, Ambassador Kang expressed a "heavy sense of responsibility" in implementing the Lee administration's "pragmatic" diplomatic strategy. She stressed that this approach is underpinned by a "robust" and "future-oriented" alliance with the United States.

The Ambassador highlighted the significance of the reciprocal visits between Presidents Lee and Trump within the first five months of the Lee administration. She pointed to the agreements reached on trade and security during these summits as evidence of a strengthened alliance and a "new starting point" for US-South Korea relations.
