Escape From Tarkov Director Apologizes for Rocky 1.0 Launch, Pledges Fixes

Battlestate Games, the developers behind the notoriously hardcore extraction shooter *Escape From Tarkov*, have issued an apology to players following a turbulent launch of the game's 1.0 version and its debut on Steam. Game Director Nikita Buyanov acknowledged the "rough" release and pledged to address the numerous issues plaguing the game, promising a continued commitment to improvement.

The Steam release, intended to broaden the game's audience, has been met with a "mixed" user review rating, largely due to persistent server issues. Players have reported lengthy queue times, frustrating performance problems, and a variety of in-game bugs that are impacting the overall experience.

In a statement released on Twitter/X, Buyanov expressed gratitude for the overwhelming interest in *Escape From Tarkov* while simultaneously acknowledging the problems. "Thank you for this overwhelming interest for the game," he wrote, adding that the team is actively adding more servers worldwide to reduce matchmaking times. He further emphasized the team's dedication to squashing bugs and improving the game in the coming months.

"The release was rough for sure, sorry for that," Buyanov admitted. "But we are willing to continue fighting for everything good against bad. We will continue to provide to you, actual fans of the game, things that you will enjoy. We need to finally crack this performance problems, outdated stuff and legacy bugs which [are] left. Yes, a lot of things were fixed in release version, but it's not enough."

The apology signals a renewed focus on addressing the long-standing technical issues that have plagued *Escape From Tarkov* since its inception. The development team is promising to tackle performance problems, legacy bugs, and outdated systems that contribute to the game's instability.

As a gesture of goodwill, Battlestate

As a gesture of goodwill, Battlestate Games is also offering in-game compensation to all players. This includes a Bear Classic and USEC Night Patrol set. Players who have already purchased these sets will receive an equivalent in-game reward.

A technical update released earlier this week already addressed a handful of issues, suggesting that Battlestate is actively working to resolve the problems. While the 1.0 launch has been less than ideal, the developer's apology and commitment to ongoing improvements offer a glimmer of hope for the future of *Escape From Tarkov*. The coming weeks and months will be crucial in determining whether Battlestate can deliver on its promises and finally provide players with the polished and stable experience they've been waiting for.
