Scott Eastwood & Susan Sarandon Join Rosario Dawso...

Hollywood is buzzing with the announcement that Scott Eastwood and Oscar-winning actress Susan Sarandon have joined Rosario Dawson in the upcoming supernatural thriller, "Unmerciful Good Fortune." The film, currently being presented at the American Film Market (AFM), promises a dark and suspenseful ride through the criminal underworld and the unsettling realm of the paranormal.

A Twisted Tale of Justice and Psychic Abilities

Dawson will portray Maritza Cruz, a highly sought-after celebrity attorney whose life is upended when she takes on the case of Fatima, a young waitress accused of the serial poisoning deaths of 28 individuals. Fatima claims to possess the ability to foresee a person's death upon physical contact and insists she is acting to prevent fates far worse than death itself. Initially dismissing Fatima's claims as delusional, Maritza finds herself questioning her skepticism as bizarre occurrences begin to unfold.

The narrative intensifies as Fatima reveals that there is one more potential victim "still alive," plunging Maritza into a desperate race against time. Her pursuit of the truth leads her on a perilous journey through gang territories, psychiatric institutions, and the heart of a fanatical Santeria cult. As Maritza delves deeper into the mystery, she begins to unravel Fatima's secret, uncovering a terrifying conspiracy that threatens not only her sanity but also the safety of her family.

Production and the Talent Behind the Camera

"Unmerciful Good Fortune" is being produced and sold worldwide by Pia Patatian's new venture, Noora Films. Tirsa Hackshaw, who is represented by Hillary Bibicoff of Feig Finkel, The Gotham Group, and WPA, expressed her excitement about the cast assembled for the project, stating that each actor brings "intelligence, precision, and depth" to the story. She emphasized that the film's "murderer's row of talent" is perfectly suited for a project that aims to redefine the serial killer genre.

Corey Large, under his 308 Enterprises banner, is also producing. Large's recent projects include Demian Lichtenstein's "The Razor's Edge" starring James Franco and Tommy Lee Jones, and Jesse V. Johnson's "Scorpion" featuring Aaron Eckhart, both currently in post-production. His upcoming projects include Barry Levinson's "Assassination," a thriller boasting an all-star cast of Al Pacino, Jessica Chastain, Brendan Fraser, and Bryan Cranston.

With its compelling premise and the addition of seasoned actors like Eastwood and Sarandon, "Unmerciful Good Fortune" is poised to be a gripping thriller that explores the boundaries between justice, belief, and the supernatural.
