Built upon Hyundai's dedicated Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the IONIQ 9 boasts a next-generation power electronics system, a sophisticated two-stage inverter, and optimized gear ratios, promising both exceptional efficiency and impressive off-road capabilities. The model features a substantial 110.3 kWh NMC lithium-ion battery pack nestled beneath the vehicle's floor.

Performance figures are compelling. The Progressive variant, equipped with a 160 kW rear motor, achieves a combined range of up to 620 kilometers. The Calligraphy version, featuring dual motors, delivers a combined power output of 226.1 kW and a range of 600 kilometers.
Hyundai has paid meticulous attention to aerodynamic efficiency. The IONIQ 9 incorporates innovative bi-directional active air flaps (AAF) that intelligently manage airflow, closing when cooling is not required to reduce the drag coefficient to a remarkably low 0.259 Cd. This system utilizes a unique combination of linear motion and rotation, enhancing both aerodynamic performance and the vehicle's visual appeal. Further aerodynamic refinements include a 3D-shaped underbody protection, aerodynamically optimized rims, and a concealed antenna.
Charging is equally impressive. The IONIQ 9 supports 350 kW ultra-fast charging, allowing for a 10% to 80% charge in just 24 minutes. The inclusion of Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality and 400V/800V multi-charging support provides users with unparalleled flexibility.

Inside, the IONIQ 9 features a panoramic curved display integrating a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch multimedia screen. The gear selector is conveniently mounted on the steering column. The vehicle's intelligent towing mode optimizes range estimation by accounting for trailer weight and maintains a balanced 50:50 torque distribution in all-wheel-drive configurations.
Safety is paramount, with the IONIQ 9 equipped with a comprehensive suite of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2 (FCA 2), Lane Following Assist 2 (LFA 2), and Blind Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA), among others. A 360° Surround View Camera System (SVM) and multiple parking sensors further enhance safety and convenience. The IONIQ 9 features 10 airbags and a robust body structure designed to effectively dissipate collision energy. Six high-speed USB-C ports provide ample charging options for mobile devices, with one port offering up to 100W of power.
