First unveiled in November 2024, the IONIQ 9 is already generating buzz as a frontrunner in the 2025 electric SUV market, building on the global success of its predecessors, the IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6. The model features a substantial 110.3 kWh NMC lithium-ion battery pack nestled beneath the vehicle's floor.

Performance figures are compelling. The Progressive variant, equipped with a 160 kW rear motor, achieves a combined range of up to 620 kilometers. The Calligraphy version, featuring dual motors, delivers a combined power output of 226.1 kW and a range of 600 kilometers.

The IONIQ 9 incorporates innovative bi-directional active air flaps (AAF) that intelligently manage airflow, closing when cooling is not required to reduce the drag coefficient to a remarkably low 0.259 Cd. This system utilizes a unique combination of linear motion and rotation, enhancing both aerodynamic performance and the vehicle's visual appeal. Further aerodynamic refinements include a 3D-shaped underbody protection, aerodynamically optimized rims, and a concealed antenna.
