Apple's New "Phone Cocoon" Lets You Wear Your iPho...

## Apple Unveils iPhone Pocket: The Latest Accessory to Wear Your Tech Apple is pushing the boundaries of mobile fashion with its latest offering: the iPhone Pocket. This isn't just a case; it's a knitted, stretchy sack designed to be worn as a statement piece, dangling from your shoulder. Following the introduction of crossbody strap attachment points on their iPhone 17 cases, Apple is doubling down on the concept of wearing your phone as an integral part of your outfit. The iPhone Pocket, touted by Apple as "a beautiful way to wear and carry iPhone," aims to be a universal solution for carrying various phone sizes. According to Apple, Yoshiyuki Miyamae, director of Miyake Design Studio, believes the accessory is meant to be "universal in aesthetic and versatile in use," suggesting it can accommodate everything from the compact iPhone 17 and 17 Pro to the larger iPhone Air and the behemoth iPhone 17 Pro Max. While designed for iPhones, the Pocket's stretchy nature likely extends its compatibility to other brands. Speculation suggests it could comfortably house devices like the Pixel 10, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, or even a New Nintendo 3DS XL. The concept of wearing a smartphone has its proponents. Arguments are made for enhanced security, preventing accidental drops, and for improved accessibility, allowing for quick access to your device. However, the iPhone Pocket's practicality in achieving these goals remains debatable. The accessory comes in two versions: a short-strap model available in eight vibrant colors, and a long-strap version offered in a more limited palette of three colors. The price point, however, is raising eyebrows. The short-strap version retails for $150, while the long-strap option commands a premium at $230. Whether the iPhone Pocket will become the next must-have fashion accessory or a niche product remains to be seen. Its success will likely depend on whether consumers embrace the idea of wearing their phones as a style statement, and whether the perceived benefits outweigh the relatively high cost. Only time, and real-world sightings, will tell if the iPhone Pocket can truly make a pocket-sized impression.
