While plot details remain tightly under wraps, the film marks a reunion for del Toro, director Singer, and production company Black Label Media, following the success of their collaboration on the 2023 thriller "Reptile," which topped Netflix charts after premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Black Label Media's Molly Smith, Trent

Black Label Media's Molly Smith, Trent Luckinbill, and Thad Luckinbill will produce "Reenactment," alongside Wachsberger. Rachel Smith of Black Label will executive produce, as will Bradley Thomas of Imperative, Ashley Stern of 193, and LBI's Rick Yorn and Scott Greenberg.

The film boasts a compelling pedigree of talent both in front of and behind the camera. Del Toro recently garnered critical acclaim for his performance in Paul Thomas Anderson's "One Battle After Another." Diaz, after a hiatus, made a triumphant return in the 2025 Netflix action comedy "Back in Action" opposite Jamie Foxx, which the streaming giant touted as their most-watched film of the year thus far.

Singer, known for his visually stunning and impactful work as a music video director for artists like The Weeknd, Taylor Swift, Sam Smith, Travis Scott, and Camila Cabello, is also developing "The White Van" with Black Label Media, where he is also attached to direct.

Production on "Reenactment" is slated to begin soon in Los Angeles, adding to the anticipation surrounding the project. De Armas, fresh off her lead role in the "John Wick" spin-off "Ballerina," is represented by CAA and Grubman Shire Meiselas & Sacks. With a star-studded cast, a proven director, and a mysterious plot, "Reenactment" is already generating considerable interest and promises to be a highly anticipated addition to the cinematic landscape. The combination of Singer's directorial vision, the acting prowess of de Armas, del Toro, and Diaz, and the backing of Black Label Media positions the film for potential critical and commercial success.
