Fox's Midseason Lineup: Get Ready for Dads, Disgui...

Fox is shaking things up in the new year, announcing a robust winter schedule packed with fresh dramas, returning comedies, and the revival of a controversial reality competition. The network is significantly increasing its live-action scripted programming, jumping from two hours in the fall to a solid four hours per night.

Leading the charge are two new

Leading the charge are two new drama series: "Memory of a Killer," a psychological thriller starring Patrick Dempsey, and "Best Medicine," a medical drama adaptation of the popular British series "Doc Martin" starring Josh Charles. "Memory of a Killer," which recently underwent a showrunner change, will premiere on January 26th, following the Season 2 launch of "Extracted," the extreme survival competition, which returns to its Monday 8 PM slot.

"Best Medicine" will join "Doc," which boasts a full 22-episode order, to form a new Tuesday night medical drama block, debuting on January 6th. This strategic programming move aims to solidify Fox's presence in the competitive primetime landscape.

Comedy fans can rejoice as "Animal Control" and "Going Dutch" return for their respective fourth and second seasons, bringing back their unique brands of humor to the network's lineup.

But the laughs don't stop there

But the laughs don't stop there. "Family Guy" will kick off its impressive 24th season a week earlier, leading into a milestone Sunday event celebrating the 450th episode of "Family Guy" and the 800th episode of "The Simpsons."

Reality television enthusiasts have plenty to look forward to as well. "The Masked Singer," after a fall hiatus, returns for its 14th season on January 7th with a special two-hour premiere featuring a double unmasking. The network is leveraging the popularity of "The Masked Singer" to launch "Fear Factor: House of Fear," a reboot of the infamous reality competition hosted by Johnny Knoxville. Fox promises a reboot that is "more unhinged than ever," bringing back the extreme challenges that made the original series a cultural phenomenon.

While "The Floor," Fox's newer unscripted hit, takes a winter break, viewers can anticipate its return in the spring. The winter schedule promises a dynamic mix of genres, aiming to capture a broad audience and solidify Fox's position as a major player in the television landscape.
