Resident Evil vs. Noodles?! Umbrella Corp's SHOCKING Lawsuit Escalates!
Gaming News 26 February 2026

Okay, folks, you gotta hand it to Capcom. They're really outdoing themselves with the marketing for Resident Evil Requiem. And this time, it's gone wonderfully, bizarrely corporate...in a completely fake way, of course. Get this: the fictional Umbrella Corporation is "suing" Nissin Noodles. Yes, *that* Nissin Noodles, the OG Cup Noodles people.

Resident Evil vs. Noodles?! Umbrella Corp's SHOCKI...

It all started with a tongue-in-cheek announcement on the official Japanese Resident Evil X account. Apparently, Umbrella Corp. is claiming that Nissin is ripping off their fictional "Umbrella Noodles." Now, Umbrella Noodles have been a recurring gag in the Resident Evil universe – a little Easter egg for eagle-eyed fans. They first popped up as an item in Resident Evil Outbreak back in 2003, and then again on posters in the Resident Evil 3 remake. Let's be real though, they're clearly poking fun at Nissin's iconic Cup Noodles design. I mean, come on!

But Capcom didn't stop there. They escalated the "feud" with a gloriously absurd video. Picture this: an Umbrella Corp. scientist, looking suitably frazzled, apologizing to consumers who mistakenly bought Nissin instead of Umbrella Noodles. He then accuses Nissin of straight-up copying their secret recipe! The best part? He claims to have "recreated" Umbrella Noodles from Nissin Cup Noodles with a 99.9% success rate. The only catch? The ingredients include entrails and a basil-heavy sauce. Apparently, this led to some "itchiness" among Umbrella employees. And, uh, the origin of the entrails remains a mystery. I'm starting to think Umbrella Corp. maybe isn't such a great employer!

Nissin, bless their hearts, played along perfectly. Their response? A simple, yet effective: "However you look at it, you're the ones doing the copying!" Talk about a mic drop. The whole thing is so wonderfully ridiculous, it's hard not to love it.

And just when you thought it couldn't get any weirder, Japanese shoppertainment company Yume Group (who, by the way, also released a limited-edition Resident Evil Requiem bundle with...exercise equipment?!) dropped an absolutely bonkers Umbrella Noodles/Resident Evil Requiem advertisement. We're talking full-on Japanese infomercial with a terrified Grace Ashcroft stumbling upon the scene. Two ridiculously enthusiastic presenters are shilling Umbrella Noodles (with a disclaimer that they *aren't* a real product, unlike Resident Evil Requiem). I'm pretty sure my brain cells died a little watching it, but it was worth it.

Even Nissin's official Cup Noodles account couldn't resist getting in on the action, responding to the ad with a bewildered: "What the hell is this?" I think we're all asking ourselves that question, Nissin. But hey, it's marketing gold. Capcom's really nailed the absurd humor. Stay tuned for more Resident Evil Requiem coverage, including completion times and global release details as we get closer to launch. And maybe, just maybe, keep an eye out for Umbrella Noodles...if you dare.
