Istanbul's Stock Market is treading water this Wednesday. The BIST 100 index barely budged at the opening bell, starting the day off with a miniscule 0.01% decline, clocking in at 14,049.62 points. That's right on the heels of yesterday's small slide, where we saw the index close down 0.08% at 14,050.83. So, not exactly a roaring start to the day, but not a disaster either.

Diving a little deeper into the sectors, it's a mixed bag. The banking index is showing some positive momentum, up 0.38%. On the other hand, holding companies are taking a bit of a hit, dropping 1.54%. Looking at the sector-specific indices, financial leasing and factoring are leading the pack with gains of 0.89%. But as mentioned, holdings are experiencing the biggest drop. Always gotta watch those holdings; they often tell a broader story about investor sentiment.
The global landscape is certainly influencing things. President Trump's pronouncements about the U.S. economy and the government's renewed focus and investment in tech companies are definitely rippling through the markets, contributing to an overall increase in risk appetite. And, perhaps more significantly, everyone's holding their breath for Nvidia's earnings report later today. Nvidia, being the behemoth it is, could really dictate the direction for the entire tech sector. I mean, seriously, all eyes are on their financials and what their management has to say.
As for domestic data, it looks like a relatively quiet day on that front. But internationally, investors will be glued to their screens, watching for U.S. weekly mortgage applications, German growth figures, and of course, any updates on Eurozone inflation. These data points are always closely scrutinized for clues about the overall health of the global economy. From a technical analysis perspective, the BIST 100 index seems to have support levels around 13,900 and 13,800 points, with resistance kicking in around 14,200 and 14,300 points. We will see if these levels are tested in the coming days.
Overall, a fairly cautious start to the day in Istanbul. The market seems to be waiting for more definitive signals from both domestic and international sources. It's going to be an interesting day to watch, particularly as that Nvidia report drops. Stay tuned, folks!
