The offer, announced via Trump's Truth Social platform, came on the heels of the Danish military evacuating a U.S. submarine crew member off the Greenland coast. Trump claimed he wanted to send a "great hospital boat" to Greenland to address alleged widespread illness and inadequate care, mentioning his special envoy for Greenland and Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry in the post. He even said, "It's on the way!!!" The only problem? Both U.S. Navy hospital ships are currently chilling in a shipyard in Alabama. Oops.

"It's a no thank you from here," Greenlandic Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen stated bluntly, rebuffing the unsolicited assistance. Nielsen emphasized that Greenlanders have free access to healthcare as a fundamental tenet of their society. "That is a deliberate choice — and a fundamental part of our society," he said, in what felt like a direct jab at the U.S. healthcare model.
