Resident Evil Director's EXPLOSIVE Curse on Leakers! What Happens Next?!
Gaming News 23 February 2026

Alright, folks, gather 'round the digital campfire. It seems a storm is brewing in the survival horror world, and it involves a beloved franchise, some unwelcome spoilers, and one very, very angry game director. We're talking, of course, about "Resident Evil Requiem" and the internet's unfortunate habit of spoiling everything good before the rest of us get a chance to enjoy it.

Resident Evil Director's EXPLOSIVE Curse on Leaker...

Capcom is, understandably, not thrilled. But it's the reaction of Hideki Kamiya, the director of the iconic "Resident Evil 2," that's really got people talking. Known for his unfiltered online presence, Kamiya didn't mince words when addressing the "Requiem" leaks. He unleashed a verbal barrage on X/Twitter that frankly, needs to be seen to be believed.

GamesRadar+ did the heavy lifting of translating Kamiya's original Japanese post, and the sentiment is clear: he is *not* happy. He even drew parallels to his experience during the development of "Resident Evil 2," recalling a time when a magazine spoiled key plot points. While leaks are, unfortunately, more commonplace today, their impact hasn't lessened, especially when they originate from unofficial sources that are nearly impossible to contain.

It's easy to see where he's coming from. Imagine pouring your heart and soul into a project for years, only to have someone gleefully rip apart the carefully crafted suspense and surprises for their own amusement. As Kamiya put it, the leakers are "trampling on the feelings of the people who are looking forward to the game, and the creatives who worked so hard to make it... Destroying everyone's joy, just for these assholes' self-gratification." Ouch. Tell us how you really feel, Hideki!

He didn't stop there, though. Kamiya went on to say that these spoilers "deserve to die ten thousand deaths," before (slightly) walking it back with a wish that they be "cursed to never play the game again." Look, I get it. I've been there. We've all been there. You put your heart into something, and someone tries to sabotage it. You might want to exact similar retribution. I completely sympathize with his frustration.

Now, some might find his language a bit strong, and yeah, maybe it is. But you have to understand the context. Kamiya, despite his online persona, is reportedly a genuinely friendly guy in person. This outburst is, in my opinion, a reflection of the deep frustration many developers feel when their hard work, their carefully constructed narratives, are spoiled for the very fans they're trying to entertain. Let's hope "Resident Evil Requiem" still manages to deliver the scares, despite the efforts of a few rogue individuals. And maybe, just maybe, those leakers will think twice before spoiling another game.
