Hold on to your hats, folks! It seems a major spoiler for the upcoming "Super Mario Galaxy Movie" might have just dropped – and it's a big one. While we're all eagerly anticipating Mario's return to the big screen, a UK cinema chain may have accidentally spilled the beans on a crucial plot point involving a certain… rotund antagonist.
Super Mario Galaxy Movie Leak: Beloved Character's...
Luxury cinema chain Everyman, in what we can only assume was a premature posting, included a synopsis of the film on their website. The description explicitly names Wario as joining forces with Bowser Jr. to menace the Mushroom Kingdom, and maybe even the entire *world*. The leaked text reads: "After defeating Bowser and saving Brooklyn, Mario faces Wario and Bowser Jr.'s evil alliance. Now, alongside his friends and Yoshi, he must stop their plans for world domination." Now, if that doesn't get your pasta pot bubbling, I don't know what will.
Remember all that buzz about who would voice Wario? Jack Black, our beloved Bowser, even publicly campaigned for Pedro Pascal to take on the role. The image of Pascal's gravelly voice emanating from Wario's… well, let's just say distinctive features… is pretty entertaining. Whether Black got his wish, or whether Illumination went with someone completely different, remains a mystery. But the mere confirmation of Wario's presence is enough to send shivers (good shivers!) down the spines of Mario fans everywhere.
For those just joining us, Nintendo and Illumination are indeed reuniting for the sequel to the massively successful "The Super Mario Bros. Movie." Directors Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic are back at the helm, promising more of that colorful, frenetic energy that made the first film a box office smash. And yes, the core crew is back: Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, and so on. We're even getting Brie Larson as Rosalina, which… okay, I'm intrigued.
But wait, there's more! It seems the rumor mill is working overtime. A recently unveiled toy set has fueled speculation about yet another classic Nintendo character potentially making an appearance. And some eagle-eyed fans swear they spotted a fleeting glimpse of Fox McCloud from Star Fox in a recent trailer. At the two-second mark, far left, a figure in a green shirt, white vest, and armed with a blaster can supposedly be seen. Is this wishful thinking, or a legitimate tease? We'll just have to wait and see. Honestly, at this point, anything is possible. With the film slated for release on April 1st, the anticipation is reaching fever pitch. One thing's for sure: this movie is shaping up to be an absolute galaxy-sized event.
