Hold on to your hats, animation fans! Netflix just dropped some seriously exciting news: they've given the green light to "Dang!," a brand-new adult animated comedy series. And the creative team behind it? Well, let's just say it's packed with comedy heavyweights.

Netflix's 'Dang!': Good Place Trio's Wild New Show...

Think "The Good Place," but animated and (presumably) a bit more… adult. That's the vibe I'm getting. Andrew Law, Matt Murray, and the brilliant Mike Schur – the trio that brought us the philosophical hijinks of NBC's beloved sitcom – are all on board as executive producers. Law will also be lending his voice as one of the stars, alongside the incredibly talented Stephanie Hsu (fresh off her Oscar-nominated performance in "Everything Everywhere All At Once") and Poppy Liu ("Hacks"). Talk about a dream team!

The animation is being handled by Titmouse, the studio behind visually stunning shows like "The Legend of Vox Machina" and "Big Mouth," so we can expect something pretty special in terms of style. Universal Television, where Schur has an overall deal, is the studio behind the project. This is going to be interesting to watch, especially since Schur's got a knack for creating shows with genuine heart, even when they're absurdly funny. He clearly knows talent, and he surrounds himself with the best.

Netflix is clearly betting big on adult animation, and John Derderian, Netflix’s VP of Animation Series + Kids & Family TV, seems pretty stoked about "Dang!" He even mentioned that the show tackles the "relatable chaos of sibling rivalry," which definitely piques my interest. And let's be honest, who doesn't have some kind of sibling rivalry story they can relate to?

Law himself seems pretty enthusiastic, even throwing in a slightly… provocative comment in the official press release. He hopes viewers will "fall in love with these characters. Or at least find them very, very attractive. Sexually." Okay, Andrew, we get it! You're going for edgy. But beyond the playful quip, it's clear they're aiming to create something truly special. "Dang!" is slated to join Netflix’s burgeoning slate of adult animated comedies, which includes some upcoming titles that I'm already curious about.

With Schur, Murray, and Law's track record, plus the voice talents of Hsu and Liu, "Dang!" has all the ingredients to be a major hit. I, for one, will definitely be adding it to my watch list. Keep an eye out later this year, folks – this one could be a game-changer for adult animation on Netflix.
