Avowed Update SHOCKS Fans! Is This the Game Changer We Hoped For?!
Gaming News 17 February 2026

Obsidian Entertainment just dropped a bombshell of an anniversary update for *Avowed*, and let me tell you, it's a game-changer. We're talking significant improvements across the board, not just some minor tweaks. It feels like they really listened to the community feedback, and the results are pretty impressive.

Avowed Update SHOCKS Fans! Is This the Game Change...

The headline features? Well, where do I even begin? First off, character customization gets a serious boost. They've added entirely new playable races, which is fantastic for those of us who love crafting unique characters and diving deep into the role-playing aspect. Beyond that, the "Magic Mirror" feature and expanded preset characters (plus those Godlike features!) give you even more control over your hero's look and feel. Finally, that long requested Photo Mode is here to stay!

But it doesn't stop there. For those of us who like a challenge, or perhaps want to experience the story again with a fresh perspective, there's now a New Game+ mode. I'm personally excited about this; it's a great way to revisit the Living Lands and experiment with different builds and choices, especially when you know what’s coming. And speaking of challenge, they've also added custom difficulty options so you can tailor the game to your exact preferences. No more complaints about it being too easy or too hard!

And let's not forget the new weapon: the Quarterstaff. A good addition that may change how I play. We all know that a new weapon can shake up combat in interesting ways, especially in a game like *Avowed* where tactical combat is key.

This update also coincides with the game's launch on PlayStation 5, opening up Obsidian's immersive world to a whole new audience. I think this is a smart move. More players getting to experience the game is always a good thing, and the PS5's capabilities should really make the Living Lands shine. Plus, Obsidian released some gameplay footage captured in 4K on a PS5 Pro. The game looks stunning!

All in all, this anniversary update is a fantastic addition to *Avowed*. It addresses many of the issues players have raised, and introduces new features that enhance the overall experience. Obsidian clearly cares about this game and its community, and it shows. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to dive back in and try out that New Game+ mode.
