UAE Weather SHOCK: Fog Alert! Is Your Morning Commute DOOMED?
Current Affairs 14 February 2026

Good morning, UAE! Get ready for a day of contrasts as we head into Saturday, February 14, 2026. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) is forecasting fair to partly cloudy skies, but with a bit of a twist: early morning fog. So, if you’re planning an early start, be extra cautious, especially near the coast and inland areas. This isn't unusual for this time of year, but it's always good to be prepared.

UAE Weather SHOCK: Fog Alert! Is Your Morning Comm...

That fog, as the NCM is pointing out, will likely reduce visibility significantly. They're specifically mentioning coastal zones, marina areas, and, importantly, major highways. Drivers, please take note: headlights on, slow down, and increase your following distance. You know the drill. Reduced visibility can be a real hazard, and nobody wants a fender-bender to start their weekend.

Now, onto the temperatures. Expect a pretty significant swing between morning and afternoon. While those early mornings might see temperatures dip to around 9°C in some of the cooler areas, daytime highs are expected to reach a balmy 34°C in the interior and mountainous regions. That’s quite a difference! In Dubai, the forecast is hovering between 20°C and 30°C, while Abu Dhabi is looking at 18°C to 32°C. Sharjah might be a tad cooler in the morning, starting around 15°C before climbing to about 31°C.

What does this mean for you? Well, layers are your friend! You might want a light jacket or sweater for the early morning commute, but you’ll probably be shedding it by midday. And remember to stay hydrated – that desert sun can be deceptively strong, even in February. It's the perfect weather for a picnic, a hike, or maybe just lounging by the pool, soaking up the sun. Just don't forget the sunscreen!

Wind conditions are expected to be light to moderate, generally from the southeast to northeast. Nothing too dramatic there. The main thing to keep in mind is that early morning fog. So, plan your travels accordingly, drive safely, and enjoy the (mostly) sunny Saturday ahead. Stay tuned for further updates, and have a great weekend, everyone!
