It’s a bit of a shame, really. I remember sinking countless hours into that mode back in the day – the tactical gameplay was surprisingly addictive, and the unique modes kept things fresh. The servers were finally shut down in 2012, so it's been quite a while, but the absence will definitely be felt by some die-hard fans.

Now, before you start throwing your controllers at the wall, there's a silver lining. While *MGS4's* online component is absent, the core single-player experience *will* be getting some love. Konami has confirmed that this version of *MGS4* will boast improved internal resolution, a higher maximum framerate, and, thankfully, customizable controls.
