The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS) clearly agreed that *Expedition 33* was a standout title in a year packed with innovative games.

And speaking of impressive titles, *Blue Prince* and *Death Stranding 2: On the Beach* each walked away with two awards, proving that even sequels and new IPs can shine.

Beyond the main awards, the AIAS also honored Evan Wells, the former president of Naughty Dog, with induction into the Hall of Game. This was a well-deserved recognition of Wells's decades-long dedication to game development and his leadership in shaping some of the industry's most beloved titles. I mean, come on, we're talking *Crash Bandicoot* and *Uncharted* here! The impact he's had is undeniable.

It’s worth noting that *Clair Obscur: Expedition 33* seems unstoppable. This DICE win follows their Game of the Year wins at both The Game Awards 2025 and the Golden Joystick Awards. And the accolades might keep rolling in; the game is nominated for Game of the Year at the upcoming Game Developers Choice Awards, along with several other categories. GameSpot also named it their Game of the Year for 2025. Honestly, I'm starting to wonder if Sandfall has some kind of secret winning formula. Whatever it is, it’s working!
