Hyundai Bayon SHOCK: Radical Redesign LEAKED! What Will Gen 2 Look Like?!
Automotive 13 February 2026

Hold on to your hats, folks, because Hyundai's cooking up something new in the B-segment! Whispers (and more importantly, spy shots) are swirling that the next-generation Bayon is already in development, with a potential launch as early as 2027. Given the current model's success, especially with those mild-hybrid and LPG options in certain markets, it's no surprise Hyundai wants to keep its spot in the compact crossover game.

Hyundai Bayon SHOCK: Radical Redesign LEAKED! What...

What's particularly exciting is the hints we're getting about the design. Early prototypes, cleverly disguised of course, have been spotted braving the icy roads of Northern Europe. Artists have taken those glimpses and created renderings, and let me tell you, this new Bayon is shaping up to be a bit of a departure. It looks like Hyundai's moving away from that "city crossover" vibe and leaning more into a proper, honest-to-goodness compact SUV stance. We're talking a more horizontal roofline, possibly even an extended wheelbase – all pointing to more room inside for passengers and cargo.

Now, don't expect a massive growth spurt. We're hearing the overall dimensions will stay fairly similar to the current Bayon. Think somewhere in the ballpark of 4.10 to 4.20 meters long, around 1.80 meters wide, and a height of 1.55 to 1.60 meters. The renderings, though, highlight a striking new front end. Imagine a full-width light bar connecting slim, almost squinting, headlight clusters. It's a design cue we're starting to see on Hyundai's more premium offerings, and it definitely gives the new Bayon a more sophisticated edge. Interestingly, some are suggesting it's starting to look a little too close to the Kona, which could mean Hyundai’s strategically blurring the lines between the two models.

Inside, details are understandably scarce from the spy photos. But common sense suggests a complete overhaul is on the cards. We're talking a brand-spanking new digital instrument panel, a bigger and more modern multimedia screen, and hopefully, a noticeable upgrade in materials. Let's be honest, that's an area where many compact cars can improve! And for those who crave a bit more visual flair, rumors are circulating about a sportier N Line variant. It wouldn’t fundamentally change the car's character, but it would definitely add a dash of dynamism to the exterior.

Perhaps the biggest shift will be under the hood. While the current Bayon offers mild-hybrid options, the new generation is expected to double down on hybrid technology. Word on the street is that Hyundai's planning a full hybrid system this time around. That's a significant step up and could really make the new Bayon a compelling choice for eco-conscious buyers. It certainly will be interesting to see what the final product is when its released in 2027.
