Gilded Age SHAKE-UP! Fan Favorites Promoted, New F...

Jordan Donica and Ashlie Atkinson, who have both been fan favorites, have been promoted to series regulars. It’s fantastic to see them getting more screen time. Atkinson, in particular, shines as Mamie Fish, and I'm eager to see how her character develops with this expanded role.

But that's not all! The show is also welcoming six fresh faces to the recurring cast, including Taylor Trensch, James Scully, Dennis Haysbert, Maggie Kuntz, Neal Huff, and Tony Award-winner Bonnie Milligan. Haysbert, known for his commanding presence in "24," is a particularly intriguing addition. I'm already picturing him in a top hat and tails, adding a new layer of complexity to the show's already rich tapestry of characters.

So, what can we expect from Season 4? According to HBO, the aftermath of Bertha Russell's (Carrie Coon) social climbing will be a major theme. Remember how she bulldozed her way into New York society? Well, those actions are going to have consequences, and the Russell family will have to deal with them. Meanwhile, Agnes van Rhijn (Christine Baranski), never one to back down from a challenge, sees an opportunity to reclaim her position. Oh, I cannot wait to see Baranski deliver those withering one-liners!

The logline also hints at Marian (Louisa Jacobson) forging her own path and Peggy (Denée Benton) navigating the complexities of her relationship with her future in-laws. It sounds like Peggy will be trying to find some common ground with William’s parents if she is to have a wedding. The season promises a return to the classic "old money vs. new money" dynamic, which is always a source of delicious drama. And let's not forget the potential for a divorce between Bertha and George (Morgan Spector). They seemed so in love in Season 1, but power and ambition can do strange things to a marriage.

It’s also worth remembering that George was very close to death towards the end of last season before his life was saved by Peggy’s beau, Dr. Kirkland. That’s the sort of experience that will change someone forever. While only Coon, Baranski, Jacobson, and Benton, in addition to Donika and Atkinson, are confirmed from Season 3 to be returning, anticipation is high for more details on what exactly these new additions will bring to the already intricate world of "The Gilded Age." Season 4 is shaping up to be another captivating chapter in this lavish period drama.
