Mercedes-Benz isn't slowing down anytime soon. Fresh off the heels of unveiling the refreshed S-Class, the German automaker is apparently gearing up for a product blitz through 2027, with a truly impressive number of new models on the horizon. We’re talking serious volume here – leaked documents point to a comprehensive plan that covers everything from their entry-level vehicles all the way up to the flagship models. It’s a big play, and a potentially very profitable one if they pull it off.
Mercedes' HUGE Gamble! 16 New Models to SHAKE the ...
The plan, according to those leaked documents, involves launching at least sixteen new vehicles before the end of this year, and the indications are that they’ll be mirroring that level of activity in 2027 as well. While internal combustion engines (ICE) will still be a big part of the mix, we'll also be seeing a significant number of new or updated electric vehicles (EVs) hitting the market. It's a calculated balance between what sells now and what the future demands.
Mercedes is being predictably tight-lipped about specifics, but that doesn't stop the rumor mill from churning. We’re almost certain to see a facelifted Maybach S-Class in 2026, and with the S-Class already out, I'd bet we'll see its ultra-luxurious sibling fairly soon. Also, keep an eye out for a GLS facelift this year, and, naturally, a Maybach version of that to follow shortly after. It’s the classic Mercedes one-two punch.
As for those ICE offerings, a particularly interesting possibility is the long-awaited G-Class Cabriolet, which has been teased for what feels like forever. Or perhaps they'll surprise us with something from AMG, maybe even a V8-powered CLE. They do have a history of pulling rabbits out of hats when we least expect it.
The EV side of things is equally interesting. The EQS and EQS SUV are prime candidates for a refresh this year. If Mercedes considers those a single model (as they sometimes do for marketing purposes), the other EV launch could be an AMG-badged electric sedan, potentially filling the void left by the gasoline-powered GT 4-Door Coupe. That's a segment that's ripe for disruption, and Mercedes knows it.
The core of the lineup – the C-Class sedan and wagon – is expected to get a facelift as well. We might also see updates to the ICE-powered GLC and GLC Coupe to bring their styling in line with the electric GLC. And speaking of electric C-Classes, a fully electric version is currently slated for 2026.
Even the entry-level segment isn't being ignored. The next-generation GLA is expected later this year, potentially with a fully electric variant badged with the "with EQ Technology" moniker. What’s really interesting here is that Mercedes is moving towards unifying its ICE and EV design language, so those somewhat egg-shaped silhouettes of the earlier EQ models are (thankfully) on their way out.
While it's too early to nail down the 2027 launches precisely, Mercedes has already confirmed a smaller G-Class and a new entry-level model that will replace the A-Class. Plus, an all-electric SUV designed specifically for AMG is under development, and we can expect to see teasers for that one sooner rather than later. It's clear that Mercedes is serious about maintaining its place at the top of the automotive food chain.
