The selection is surprisingly good, too. We're talking about some of the absolute *best* DC has to offer. And, to sweeten the pot, a lot of these are already discounted a bit. I noticed some titles are down between 7% and 13% even *before* you tack on the BOGO deal. At a regular price of just $9.99 a pop, this is seriously tempting. You could snag two great stories for around $15, depending on what catches your eye. That's less than the price of a decent sandwich these days!
Speaking of what might catch your eye, there's a seriously diverse range of characters represented. Superman, Batman, Harley Quinn, even the Watchmen crew are all in the mix. So whether you're a Bat-fanatic or a Kryptonian devotee, there's bound to be something you'll enjoy. Personally, I'm eyeing up "Batman: Hush" by Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee. That initial "Hush" arc, collected from Batman #608 through Batman #619, is pure comic book gold. The art is phenomenal, and the story is a twisty, turny thrill ride.
For the Caped Crusader crowd, Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo's "Batman: The Court of Owls Saga" is a must-have, collecting the first 11 issues of their groundbreaking run. And don't sleep on Sean Murphy's "Batman: White Knight" – it's a brilliant, thought-provoking take on the Joker. On the brighter side of the DC spectrum, Grant Morrison's "All-Star Superman" is, well, all-star. And if you're looking ahead to James Gunn's Supergirl film, definitely pick up "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow" by Tom King and Bilquis Evely. A lot of folks consider it the definitive Supergirl story.
Beyond those, Mark Waid and Alex Ross's "Kingdom Come" is a classic Justice League tale, exploring the conflict between Batman and Superman in a truly epic way. And even if you're not usually a DC reader, "Watchmen" is always worth revisiting, especially at this price point. Don't forget Scott Snyder's "American Vampire," too. The art by Rafael Albuquerque is fantastic, and it even features a story co-written by Stephen King! And for Brian K. Vaughan fans, "Y: The Last Man: Unmanned" (collecting the first 10 issues) is also part of the sale. Go get ‘em!
