Okay, so last night's State of Play was, frankly, a bit of a whirlwind. Between Keanu Reeves blasting bad guys in *John Wick* (who saw *that* coming?), and the almost dreamlike visuals of *Neva: Prologue*, my head's still spinning. There was a *lot* to take in.
Goose Game Dev's BIG Secret! PS Plus Essential Abo...
But amidst all the flashy trailers and big reveals, one announcement, in my humble opinion, deserves a little extra spotlight. And that's the next game from House House, the indie darlings who gave us the delightfully chaotic *Untitled Goose Game*. Remember that? Honk! Terrorize the villagers! Pure, unadulterated digital mischief. Good times.
Well, their new game, *Big Walk*, is a bit of a departure, at least on the surface. Forget causing mayhem as a feathered fiend; this time, it's all about… hanging out with your friends. Yeah, I know, it sounds almost *too* wholesome. But knowing House House, there's probably a subversive twist lurking beneath the surface. They describe it as spending time together, watching sunsets, and… well, potentially kicking your friend's binoculars into the ocean. Yep, there it is. The Goose Game spirit lives!
And here's the kicker: *Big Walk* will be available on PlayStation Plus (Essential tier) from day one! That's huge for an indie title. It means a massive audience gets immediate access, which is fantastic. It also shows that Sony is continuing to embrace smaller, more experimental games on their platform. A welcome trend, if you ask me. I'm always up for seeing a studio get the visibility they deserve.
The game is slated for release later this year, though an exact date is still TBD. It'll also be launching on PC, so everyone gets a chance to take a *Big Walk*. There's a trailer for the PS5 version floating around if you want a sneak peek. Honestly, based on House House's track record, I’m expecting something uniquely charming, subtly hilarious, and, hopefully, just a little bit weird. I’m definitely adding this one to my watch list.
For those who missed the State of Play entirely, or just need a refresher, be sure to check out our complete roundup. There were some genuinely exciting announcements that you won’t want to miss. But for now, I'm going to go ponder the philosophical implications of digital binocular-kicking. It’s a tough job, but someone has to do it.
