PlayStation Plus SHOCK! Day-One Game Included - Is This a Game Changer?!
Gaming News 13 February 2026

PlayStation is gearing up for what looks to be a HUGE year for its PlayStation Plus subscribers. Fresh off their hour-long State of Play livestream, which, let's be honest, had some genuinely exciting reveals, the company is also dropping some major updates to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog. And I have to say, as a long-time PlayStation player, this is some welcome news.

PlayStation Plus SHOCK! Day-One Game Included - Is...

The real meat of this comes for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers. Word is, they can anticipate a wave of significant game additions throughout 2026. Now, I know "2026" feels like a lifetime away, but it’ll be here before we know it, and the star of the show is undoubtedly Marvel's Spider-Man 2. Considering how well the first game and the Miles Morales spin-off did, this is a major get for Sony.

But wait, there's more! For those subscribed to the base PlayStation Plus Essential tier, you're not being left out in the cold. February is shaping up to be a solid month with games like Undisputed, Subnautica: Below Zero, Ultros, and Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown all up for grabs until March 2nd. Not a bad selection, especially if you've been meaning to dive into the chilling depths of Subnautica: Below Zero.

Let's circle back to Spider-Man 2 for a moment. Slated for arrival on February 17, 2026, it’s a big one. Insomniac Games really went all out, bringing both Peter Parker and Miles Morales together to face off against a rogues' gallery of iconic villains – Kraven the Hunter, the Lizard, and a particularly nasty reimagining of Venom are all present and accounted for. From what I’ve seen, the gameplay looks incredibly polished, and the visuals are absolutely stunning, easily making it one of the most graphically impressive titles currently available on the PS5.

For those of us who remember the good old days of the PlayStation Portable, Tekken Dark Resurrection is hitting the PlayStation Classics collection in March 2026. PlayStation Plus Premium members will be able to indulge in some classic fighting action. Then, in May 2026, the original PlayStation version of Time Crisis will be joining the Classics lineup, enhanced with gyroscopic aiming controls for that authentic arcade light gun feel. Honestly, the thought of playing Time Crisis again with the DualSense controller has me feeling seriously nostalgic.

Finally, adding a little bit of intrigue, the co-op multiplayer adventure Big Walk is also joining the PlayStation Plus catalog at launch sometime in 2026. This one is particularly interesting because it's coming to *all* PS Plus tiers – Essential, Extra, and Premium. This kind of day-one release is always a welcome move and signals that Sony is serious about adding value across the board.
