Alright, listen up, action fans! Saber Interactive, those folks who brought us the zombie hordes in World War Z and the groovy mayhem of Evil Dead: The Game, just dropped a bombshell: they're working on a John Wick video game. And get this – it's being developed in collaboration with none other than Chad Stahelski, the director of the John Wick films himself. Yes, *that* Chad Stahelski. We're talking about the guy who practically invented "gun-fu" on the big screen.
John Wick Game: Movie Director at Helm! Gun-Fu Bra...
Now, we're not just talking a tie-in, throwaway title here. This is an untitled, third-person action game aiming to capture the brutal ballet of the John Wick movies. The reveal trailer features the unmistakable likeness of Keanu Reeves, though whether he'll be lending his voice to the digital Baba Yaga remains to be seen. Fingers crossed, right?
The trailer itself is classic Wick. We see a tailor crafting a bespoke suit, the kind designed for maximum carnage. The tailor’s monologue emphasizes movement, versatility – all the things John Wick needs to be the most dangerous man in the room (or city, or world, for that matter). This is all cut together with glimpses of Wick efficiently taking down goons in a city that's definitely seen better days. It's stylish, it's violent, it's pure John Wick.
According to the official description, this "Untitled John Wick Game" (working title, folks!) is a joint effort between Saber, Lionsgate, and Stahelski himself. They're promising an original story set within the existing John Wick universe, expanding the lore with both familiar faces and brand new characters. Color me intrigued.
Saber's aiming for the full John Wick experience. We're talking signature "gun fu" combat, dynamic camera work, immersive driving sequences (because, let's face it, Wick knows his way around a car), and those incredibly detailed, memorable environments. The goal is to make you, the player, truly *feel* like you're stepping into the shoes of John Wick. I'm already picturing myself dodging bullets in a crowded nightclub, perfectly timing my reloads, and generally being a one-man army of vengeance. Good times.
It's worth remembering that this isn't actually the first John Wick game. Bithell Games gave us John Wick Hex back in 2019, which was a very different, more strategic take on the franchise. This new project seems much more focused on direct action and replicating the movie's visual style. It's going to be interesting to see how Saber Interactive translates that cinematic intensity into a playable experience.
So, what do you think? Are you as hyped as I am for a new John Wick game? Will it live up to the films? Let's hear your thoughts in the comments below!
