GTFO Devs Hit Hard! Layoffs Rock 10 Chambers - What's Next?!
Gaming News 12 February 2026

It's never good news when we hear about Layoffs in the gaming industry, and unfortunately, it seems like another studio is facing tough times. 10 Chambers, the folks behind the intensely challenging co-op shooter GTFO and the upcoming Den of Wolves, has reportedly laid off staff amidst a company restructuring and the departure of a co-founder.

GTFO Devs Hit Hard! Layoffs Rock 10 Chambers - Wha...

Word started circulating earlier today after the team lead programmer at 10 Chambers mentioned a "recent restructure" on LinkedIn. The post went on to say that a number of "incredibly talented, experienced, and genuinely great people" are now looking for new opportunities. It's always a sign when you see those green "open to work" banners popping up, but a concentrated wave like this is often a clear indication of wider studio issues.

Several other employees confirmed the news on LinkedIn. One individual remarked, "After just over a year working at 10 Chambers I find myself with this cool green border on my LinkedIn again!" Another wryly noted, "This wasn’t on my 2026 bingo card, but here we are wearing the green LinkedIn banner for a while." A third, who spent over two years at the studio, expressed disappointment at being "affected by recent changes," while also acknowledging the inherent volatility of the games industry – a truth we're seeing play out more and more these days.

Adding to the somber mood, Hjalmar Vikström, co-founder and chief development officer of 10 Chambers, reposted the team lead programmer's message, effectively confirming the situation. He also chimed in with a note for other companies, saying, "If you are looking for talent that is experienced and readily available, look no further!" Vikström also reflected on the challenges of game development, writing, "If you know me you've heard this before: Making games is hard. And these past years have taken their toll. But thinking back I'm proud of how we managed to punch above our weight and deliver GTFO." The "punching above their weight" part resonates – GTFO was a truly ambitious project, and its uncompromising difficulty definitely carved out a niche for the studio.

This isn't the first time 10 Chambers has faced Layoffs. Back in February of this year, the studio confirmed to TechRadar Gaming that they had disbanded five roles as part of "changes to our organization." It's a tough situation, and our thoughts are with everyone affected. Hopefully, these talented developers will find new opportunities quickly.
