Disco Elysium Fans Rejoice! ZERO Demo Drops Soon - Steam Next Fest!
Gaming News 12 February 2026

Alright, buckle up, Disco Elysium fans. You know, that game that redefined what a role-playing game could be, with its gritty realism, poignant writing, and frankly, unforgettable protagonist? Well, the studio behind it, ZA/UM, is gearing up to unleash their next project, and the hype train is officially leaving the station. Get ready for Zero Parades: For Dead Spies.

Disco Elysium Fans Rejoice! ZERO Demo Drops Soon -...

And the best news? We don't have to wait until its planned 2026 release to get a taste. ZA/UM just announced that they'll be dropping a free PC demo as part of the upcoming Steam Next Fest. Mark your calendars, folks, because starting February 23rd and running through March 16th, you can dive into the shadowy world of Portofiro and experience the opening hours of this espionage RPG. I’ve been eagerly anticipating their next move, and a demo is exactly what I needed to tide me over.

Now, don's expect the *entire* opening act, but this isn't some flimsy, bare-bones teaser either. ZA/UM is promising a "tailored" experience, featuring two complete quests, a smattering of side activities, and the freedom to poke around the city-state. This should give us a solid feel for the gameplay, atmosphere, and narrative that Zero Parades is aiming for. Basically, enough to get you hooked (or at least seriously intrigued).

Speaking of getting hooked, they've also released a new gameplay video that gives us a peek at the game's opening moments. It's got that same distinct ZA/UM DNA – a blend of intricate world-building, morally ambiguous characters, and dialogue that's sharp enough to cut diamonds. The game is, of course, being crafted by a team that includes both the experienced veterans of the original *Disco Elysium*, and some fresh blood, too.

For those of you platform faithfuls, the full game is initially set to launch on PC (via Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store). A PlayStation 5 release is planned after the initial PC launch. I'm primarily a PC gamer, but this will be a day one purchase for me. Plus, if you want to do a little extra reading before you play the demo, IGN recently published an exclusive interview with ZA/UM, delving deeper into the development process and the world of Zero Parades. Consider it your pre-demo homework. Trust me, you won’t regret it. The anticipation is real!
