Arc Raiders SHOCK! 14 Million Copies Sold - What's the Secret?!
Gaming News 12 February 2026

Arc Raiders, the extraction shooter that seemingly came out of nowhere last year, is continuing its reign as a blockbuster title for publisher Nexon. Sales have now soared to an impressive 14 million copies, and peak concurrent player counts were nearing a million just last month. That’s a lot of Raiders!

Arc Raiders SHOCK! 14 Million Copies Sold - What's...

In their latest financial report, the Korean gaming giant couldn’t help but brag a little (and who can blame them?). They stated that Arc Raiders had "significantly exceeded expectations" and boasted about having "approximately six million weekly active users." January, in particular, was a banner month, seeing a peak of roughly 960,000 players online simultaneously. Considering the game only launched in late October 2025, that’s a pretty meteoric rise. I remember thinking it was a sleeper hit, but this is beyond that!

Developed by Embark Studios, a Swedish team comprised of veterans from DICE (the folks behind Battlefield), Arc Raiders clearly struck a chord with gamers. The game moved four million units in under two weeks, then hit 12 million by the start of January. The fact that it's added another two million in just the last month shows some impressive staying power. It will be interesting to see if the trend continues. It isn't always this easy to have a lasting and successful game.

Now, if we dig into the data a bit, Steamcharts tells a slightly more nuanced story. Arc Raiders did indeed peak at over 465,000 concurrent players in early January, but those numbers have seen a slight dip in February. This week, they dipped below 250,000 for the first time. This decline isn’t entirely unexpected, mind you. Games often experience an initial surge followed by a more gradual tapering off.

Despite this dip, player sentiment seems to remain largely positive. Sure, there have been reports of item duplication glitches, and yesterday fans were even discussing a new inventory issue introduced by a patch designed to fix a separate exploit. However, the fact that Embark Studios is actively addressing these problems quickly seems to be earning them goodwill with the community. This kind of transparency and responsiveness is so vital these days.

Since outlining a plan to combat cheating last month, the studio has been working hard to keep players engaged. This includes frequent gameplay tweaks, new content releases, and a comprehensive four-month roadmap. The game is currently in the midst of its "Headwinds" update, and the next chapter, "Shrouded Sky," is slated to introduce a new map condition and a new Arc threat later this month. This steady stream of updates should help keep players coming back.

Interestingly, Nexon's financial briefing remained completely silent on the rumored StarCraft shooter project. There were reports circulating that the company was assembling a team to begin development on such a title, but no official confirmation has emerged. Perhaps they are waiting for the success of Arc Raiders to settle a bit before they announce what is next. Only time will tell if they are going to pursue that one.
