MINI is gearing up for an electrifying 2026, and it looks like they're doing it with a serious dose of style. Forget just a fresh coat of paint; we're talking about a full-blown Paul Smith makeover for the electric MINI Cooper. And the best part? This isn't just a one-off. While the special Paul Smith edition will be hitting roads in the first half of next year, MINI has broader plans for its three-door electric model in 2026.

This collaboration feels like a match made in design heaven. You've got two iconic British brands, both known for their impeccable craftsmanship and obsessive attention to detail, finally joining forces. I remember seeing the MINI STRIP back in 2021 and the MINI Recharged by Paul Smith in 2022, and even then, it was clear that something bigger was brewing. Now, renowned British designer Paul Smith is bringing his "classic with a twist" ethos to the all-electric three-door for the very first time, and frankly, it's pretty exciting.

The Paul Smith Edition really stands out. The exterior color choices are inspired. "Statement Grey" is a nod to the 1959 Austin Seven, but reimagined with cooler, bluish tones. "Inspired White" is a modern take on the classic Mini's beige. And then there's "Nottingham Green," a shade that's a heartfelt tribute to Sir Paul Smith's hometown. You’ll find this green on the grille, mirror caps, and even roof options. The signature stripe, of course, makes an appearance on the roof. For those who prefer a more subtle look, the Jet Black roof option offers matte and glossy black stripes. And let's not forget those 18-inch Night Spoke alloy wheels with a Dark Steel finish and Paul Smith's signature – it’s all about the details.

The interior is just as special. They've gone with black knitted fabric on the front console and door panels, which gives it a really premium feel. The Vescin upholstered Nightshade Blue sports seats feature Paul Smith-inspired accents, while the colored stitching on the steering wheel echoes the Signature Stripe. The central circular display offers three special graphics in Personal Mode. But it's the hidden details that truly set this apart. The light projection of the word "Hello" when you open the doors, the motto "Every day is a new beginning" on the door sills, and even Paul Smith's hand-drawn little rabbit on the floor mats – it shows a real commitment to quality and design.

For European buyers, the MINI Paul Smith Edition will be available in two electric versions only: the Cooper E and Cooper SE. The Cooper E boasts 184 hp, while the Cooper SE bumps that up to 218 hp. Both offer a respectable range of 300 km to 400 km in WLTP testing. So, what's the damage? The MINI Cooper E Paul Smith Edition starts at €36,250, and the MINI Cooper SE Paul Smith Edition will set you back €40,250. It's a premium price, but for a car that's as much a design statement as it is a mode of transportation, it might just be worth it.
