Neil Young Cancels Tour! Health Crisis Behind the Shocking Decision?
Movies & TV Series 07 February 2026

Neil Young fans across the pond are understandably bummed. The legendary rocker has just announced the cancellation of his highly anticipated European tour with his new backing band, Chrome Hearts. A statement released on his website Friday confirmed the news, leaving many ticketholders wondering what happened.

Neil Young Cancels Tour! Health Crisis Behind the ...

“I have decided to take a break and will not be touring Europe this time,” Young wrote, offering a brief explanation for the abrupt decision. “Thanks to everyone who bought tickets. I’m sorry to let you down, but this is not the time.” It's a terse statement, short on details, and leaves a lot to the imagination. No specific reason was given for the cancellation, which is always a little worrying, isn't it?

The Love Earth Tour 2026, as it was called, was scheduled to kick off in Manchester, England, on June 19th. Chrome Hearts, formed by Young in late 2024, boasted a pretty impressive lineup. Micah Nelson, a talented guitarist in his own right, was on board, along with veteran organist Spooner Oldham. The rhythm section was anchored by Anthony LoGerfo on drums and Corey McCormick on bass, both hailing from Young's previous collaboration, Promise of the Real. This was shaping up to be a really interesting band configuration, and I, for one, was eager to hear what they could produce live.

Young did offer a glimmer of hope, adding, "I do love playing LIVE and being with you and the Chrome Hearts. LOVE Neil, be well.” This suggests that while the European leg is off, he's not entirely hanging up his guitar just yet. Maybe we'll see them stateside at some point? One can hope.

This isn't the first time Young has had to cut a tour short recently. In 2024, illness plagued his tour with Crazy Horse, forcing them to wrap things up prematurely. It makes you wonder if health concerns are playing a role here again. Touring is a grueling endeavor, especially as you get older. Whatever the reason, you have to respect his decision to prioritize his well-being. Let's hope Neil gets the break he needs, and that we see him back on stage again soon. The music world just isn't quite the same without him.
