Skoda Kushaq Facelift 2026: Stunning New Look for India's SUV!

Skoda is giving its India-exclusive Kushaq SUV a serious makeover for 2026. Launched just a few years ago as part of VW Group's big push into the Indian market, the Kushaq needed a little freshening up to stay competitive. And from the looks of it, Skoda isn't just tweaking things here and there, they're aiming to elevate the car significantly – both in terms of aesthetics and tech.

It's interesting to note that the Kushaq is almost exactly the same size as the Kamiq, which is sold in other markets. Could this facelift hint at changes we might see on the Kamiq eventually? Only time will tell, but it definitely raises a few eyebrows.

The design changes are pretty substantial. Skoda's kept the signature split headlight design, but they've sharpened it up with new LED units. The grille is now illuminated, which, combined with some clever chrome detailing on the grille, door handles and window surrounds, makes the whole front end look much bolder. Romain Bucaille, the designer behind the refresh, has also worked some magic on the rear. The taillights are noticeably slimmer now, and the bumper has been redesigned. A dark-colored diffuser adds a touch of sportiness, and, get this, the Skoda logo on the back is illuminated! That's a first for the brand, apparently.

Stepping inside, it's clear Skoda is focusing on upping the luxury and tech quotient. And I mean really upping it. They're even offering a rear seat massage function as an option! That's not something you typically see in this class of vehicle. A 10.25-inch digital instrument panel and a 10.1-inch multimedia system are now standard across the range. But the real showstopper is the new Gemini AI-powered voice command system. It's integrated through a Google-based Companion App, which sounds pretty slick. Skoda is also introducing some new color options, including a cool "Shimla Green," inspired by the landscapes of northern India.

Under the hood, the biggest news is a new transmission option for the 1.0 TSI engine. This 115 PS unit will now be available with an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission for the first time. Previously, buyers were somewhat limited in their choices, so this adds some welcome flexibility. The more powerful 1.5 TSI engine, of course, continues to be offered with the 7-speed DSG. All in all, the 2026 Kushaq facelift seems like a well-rounded upgrade that should keep this India-exclusive SUV fresh and competitive for years to come.
