Disney Lorcana fans, get ready! The upcoming Winterspell expansion is poised to shake up the game, and after getting a sneak peek, I'm genuinely excited about the potential. Especially for those of us who've been feeling a little neglected by the current meta.

Specifically, I'm talking about Ruby. For a while now, the Ruby color hasn't been making waves in competitive play. It’s been… well, a bit of a wallflower. Remember that big tournament late last year? Not a single Ruby deck cracked the top 32. Ouch. A lot of folks blamed the card set rotations, which took some key Ruby powerhouses off the field. Basically, the current constructed meta just wasn’t kind to Ruby.
But that could all change with Winterspell. Hopes are soaring that the new Ruby cards will breathe some much-needed life back into the color. And from what I've seen, those hopes are well-founded. We’re talking about cards that could seriously impact the game. Let’s take a look at Wreck-It Ralph - Raging Wrecker. This legendary card is a beast. It can grow in strength, quest for a whopping 3 lore, and, with the right backup, it can basically clear the entire board. Now, it's true, it’s a pricey card to play. But here’s where the strategy comes in. If you have Sapphire’s ramping capabilities, you can totally mitigate that cost. Think of it – you get Ralph out early, and suddenly your opponent is on the defensive.
The expansion doesn't stop there, though. We're getting some fantastic location support, too. Elsa Ice Artisan, for example, could be a game-changer. Imagine combining that with the raw power of Wreck-It Ralph. Suddenly, a Ruby deck doesn't just look viable; it looks downright scary.
So, yeah, I'm feeling pretty optimistic. Winterspell looks like it's going to introduce some compelling new strategies and, more importantly, might just usher in a whole new era of competitive Ruby decks. It's about time, right? I know I'm personally looking forward to seeing how these new cards impact the game and whether Ruby can finally reclaim its spot at the top tables. I, for one, will be putting it to the test immediately.
