Charli XCX as Next Bond Girl?! Her SHOCKING Answer!

Charli XCX, the pop sensation known for her edgy sound and liberal use of AutoTune, has weighed in on a topic that's always a hot one in the music world: the possibility of contributing a James Bond theme song. And while she's not outright dismissing the idea, she certainly seems…hesitant.

Charli XCX as Next Bond Girl?! Her SHOCKING Answer...

With a lineage of 007 theme singers that reads like a who's who of music royalty – think Madonna, Adele, Sam Smith, even the legendary Sir Paul McCartney and Tina Turner – it's understandable why an artist might feel a bit of pressure to step up to the plate. For Charli, a three-time Grammy winner who recently lent her talents to Emerald Fennell's *Wuthering Heights* soundtrack, the prospect seems… well, complicated.

During an interview on SiriusXM’s *The Julia Cunningham Show*, Charli addressed the swirling rumors and frankly, downplayed the likelihood. "I got to say, I don’t think that I am built for that," she admitted. "I think I probably sing with too much AutoTune to do a James Bond." It's a fair point, the Bond themes are usually known for powerful vocals, and less for studio production tricks. Still, "Never say never," she added, leaving the door slightly ajar. "I’m open to it if they want to call me, which they won’t but, yeah. I think it might not be a fit, but that’s, well, yeah. It’s not going to happen now, is it? So amazing. I don’t know."

Of course, she couldn't resist a playful jab at the camera, directly addressing Bond producer Barbara Broccoli with a cheeky, "Barbara, call me." It's all in good fun, and it's clear Charli isn't exactly holding her breath. But honestly, I can see why she might be a little wary. The pressure to deliver a Bond theme that's both iconic and commercially successful is immense. Just ask anyone who's had to follow up Adele's "Skyfall."

Meanwhile, the Bond franchise itself is undergoing a bit of a revamp. Amazon MGM Studios has officially tapped Denis Villeneuve to direct the next installment, with Steven Knight penning the script. Returning producers Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson are, of course, still at the helm, with Tanya Lapointe executive producing. Plenty of time, then, for Barbara to consider all the options.

But Charli XCX isn't exactly twiddling her thumbs waiting for the phone to ring. Besides the *Wuthering Heights* soundtrack, she's been busy making waves at Sundance with a triple feature: her meta mockumentary *The Moment*, along with appearances in Gregg Araki’s *I Want Your Sex* and Cathy Yan’s *The Gallerist*. So, even if 007 isn't in her immediate future, Charli's definitely keeping herself occupied and relevant. And hey, maybe a little AutoTune on a Bond theme wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. It's certainly worth a shot, Barbara!
