Greene ENDORSES Lemon's Arrest?! You Won't BELIEVE Her Reason!

Marjorie Taylor Greene, fresh off her, shall we say, *departure* from Georgia's 14th congressional district (resignation, really, but let’s be honest), hasn't exactly been silent. This time, she's diving headfirst into the Don Lemon situation, and predictably, she's not holding back.

Greene ENDORSES Lemon's Arrest?! You Won't BELIEVE...

Greene, making an appearance on Friday's "Real Time with Bill Maher," made her stance crystal clear regarding Lemon's recent arrest. "I completely support his arrest," she declared, referring to Lemon's indictment on Thursday for allegedly getting a little too involved in an anti-ICE protest at a Minneapolis church earlier in the month. I mean, you almost have to admire her consistency, even if you disagree with her on pretty much everything.

Her reasoning? According to Greene, Lemon’s actions constitute a violation of the FACE Act. "Well, I’m gonna say he violated the FACE Act," she told Maher, elaborating that Lemon "went into a church, disrupted their worship, and then later in an interview, compared them to white supremacists. That’s not journalism, that’s activism." It's a pretty pointed accusation, even for someone known for making pointed accusations. But is it accurate?

Greene didn't stop there. She even brought up a personal anecdote, adding, "So, I don’t think that’s journalism. That’s not first amendment, going in and harassing people in the middle church. And Don Lemon came to my office with the ‘Tesla Takedown’ guy, that organized it, and we had to call Capitol Police." This definitely adds another layer to the narrative. I always find it interesting when these political figures have personal interactions that then inform their public statements.

Predictably, not everyone agreed with Greene's assessment. Fellow panelist Joe Scarborough jumped to Lemon's defense, suggesting the arrest was a thinly veiled attempt to intimidate journalists reporting on ICE's activities. He called it an effort "meant to scare other reporters, scare other journalists" from covering ICE's alleged overreach.

Greene remained unmoved. "Well, I think it’s bullsh*t to disrupt church," she retorted. "I don’t think Christians should be harassed in church, especially by activists and reporters." It's a sentiment that's likely to resonate with a certain segment of the population, regardless of their feelings about Lemon or Greene themselves.

Meanwhile, Lemon, released on a no-cash bond, seems defiant. Speaking outside the Los Angeles courthouse, he stated, "I have spent my entire career covering the news. I will not stop now. In fact, there is no more important time than right now this very moment for a free and independent media that shines a light on the truth and holds those in power accountable." Strong words, indeed. The battle lines are drawn, and this story is far from over.
