Okay, so Pagani just pulled a Pagani, and honestly, nobody's complaining. The legendary Italian marque, known for its obsession with detail and performance, has unveiled a new Huayra variant, and it's a stunner. Called the Huayra 70 Trionfo, this beauty celebrates Horacio Pagani's 70th birthday. And in true Pagani fashion, it's not just a paint job and some fancy badges. This is a proper reimagining.
Pagani's 70th Birthday Huayra: You Won't Believe T...
Remember the Zonda HP Barchetta? That was the wild celebration for Horacio's 60th. This Huayra follows that same, almost absurdly awesome, tradition. What's particularly interesting is that Pagani officially "retired" the Huayra name years ago, replacing it with the Utopia. But clearly, like a good rock band on its farewell tour, the Huayra is back for an encore... or three, apparently.
Pagani says only the doors and window frames are carried over from the "standard" Huayra. Let that sink in. Everything else – the entire body – has been redesigned. Gone are the signature quad headlights, replaced with a new configuration that dramatically alters the car's front end. This gives it a more aggressive, almost menacing, look. I'm personally digging the change, it feels fresh but still distinctly Pagani.
The aggressive body kit strongly hints that the 70 Trionfo is based on the Huayra Roadster BC. If that's the case, we're talking about a Mercedes-AMG twin-turbo 6.0-liter V12 engine churning out a mind-boggling 800 horsepower and 1,050 Nm of torque. All that power is then channeled to the rear wheels through a 7-speed automated manual transmission. And the best part? The whole package weighs in at a mere 1,250 kg. That's supercar territory, folks. This thing is going to fly.
Pagani hasn't revealed the other two examples of the 70 Trionfo just yet. We also don't know if these were built from scratch or repurposed from existing Huayras. It's a bit of a mystery, which, let's be honest, only adds to the allure. And speaking of not letting go, remember the Zonda? Twenty-six years after its initial launch, they're still rolling out special editions like the Unico from last year. So, yeah, expect to see the Huayra nameplate adorning plenty more ultra-exclusive models in the years to come. It's just what Pagani does.
