Arriving at the scene, officers discovered the bodies of four adults, all victims of fatal gunshot wounds. Thankfully, the children were physically unharmed, though the emotional scars will undoubtedly run deep.

Vijay Kumar, 51, is now in custody, facing a litany of charges that reflect the severity of the crime. According to Fox5 Atlanta, these include four counts each of aggravated assault and felony murder. The authorities haven't held back, also invoking four counts of malice murder, one count of first-degree cruelty to children, and two counts of third-degree cruelty to children. These charges paint a grim picture of the violence that erupted within the walls of that home.

Police have identified the victims as Kumar’s wife, Meenu Dogra, 43, of Atlanta, and Gourav Cumar, 33, Nidhi Chander, 37, and Harish Chander, 38, all residents of Lawrenceville. It’s a devastating loss for the families and the wider community.

Investigators are piecing together the sequence of events that led to this tragedy. They believe an argument initially broke out between Dogra and Kumar at their Atlanta home. Afterwards, they traveled with their 12-year-old child to a residence on Brook Ivy Court. This is where Gourav Cumar, Nidhi Chander, and Harish Chander, relatives of Dogra and Kumar, lived with two additional young children, aged seven and ten. It was the 12-year-old who ultimately made the call for help after the shooting started. The questions remain: What was the initial argument about? Why did they travel to the Brook Ivy Court residence? And what transpired in those final moments that led to such brutal violence?
