And if you were flipping channels on the FOX family of networks, you definitely got your money's worth. I know I did, practically glued to the screen all day.

The marquee matchup of the night, as I'm writing this, is still unfolding: No. 19 Kansas is duking it out with their in-state rivals, Kansas State. You know how those rivalry games go – throw the rankings out the window! It's all about bragging rights, and this one's got that classic intensity. The atmosphere is electric, you can practically feel it through the TV.

Earlier in the day, No. 7 Nebraska showed their mettle with a big Big Ten road win against Minnesota. A road win in the Big Ten is ALWAYS a tough one to get. Seriously, those arenas are brutal. Then, No. 2 UConn, fresh off their championship run, barely survived a scare at home, pulling out an overtime victory against a pesky Villanova squad. Villanova just wouldn't quit. Those are the games that really test a team's championship resolve.

But the biggest shocker of the day? No. 11 Illinois stunned No. 4 Purdue in West Lafayette! Purdue, led by likely national player of the year Zach Edey, has been a dominant force, so for Illinois to go into their house and steal a win is a massive statement. That's the kind of victory that can propel a team deep into March. I saw some highlights, and Illinois looked absolutely locked in. Credit to their coaching staff for clearly having them prepared.

And let's not forget the other in-state battle: No. 13 BYU took care of business against Utah in a key Big 12 contest. BYU is making a statement in their first year in the conference, and that was another emphatic win. They are definitely a team to watch going forward. So, plenty of action to unpack.
