Atrum: Prepare to Be STUNNED by the Official Gameplay Reveal!
Gaming News 22 January 2026

Okay, color me intrigued. Duskwave Games just dropped a gameplay reveal trailer for their upcoming title, *Atrum*, and it's definitely caught my eye. We're talking Dark Fantasy, third-person action, and magic-based shooting – a combination that, frankly, I haven't seen done quite like this before. The trailer itself is a moody affair, all grim landscapes and shadowy figures, instantly setting the stage for what promises to be a challenging experience.

Atrum: Prepare to Be STUNNED by the Official Gamep...

The core concept appears to be putting you in the robes of a mage who is, shall we say, having a *very* bad day. This mage is seemingly succumbing to some kind of encroaching darkness, which is always a fun premise to explore. I'm a sucker for those "fight the corruption from within" narratives. From the trailer, we see glimpses of intense combat against seriously nasty looking corrupted enemies. Think twisted, gnarled creatures that seem ripped straight out of a nightmare. The visual design here is really strong, and creates a tangible sense of threat.

But *Atrum* isn't just about blasting grotesque baddies, it seems there's a strong focus on acquiring powerful magical items and unleashing devastating spells. The trailer showcased a variety of these spells, from what looked like explosive fireballs to blasts of arcane energy. The effects are visually impressive and, hopefully, translate into equally satisfying gameplay. The promise of finding new magical items to enhance your abilities definitely adds a layer of progression and exploration that I always appreciate in games of this type.

One thing that stands out is the emphasis on the "slowly taking on the darkness" aspect. This suggests that *Atrum* will feature some degree of moral choice or character development, which could add some real depth to the experience. Will we be able to resist the corruption entirely? Or will we succumb to its power, perhaps gaining new abilities at the cost of our humanity (or whatever the in-game equivalent is)? These are the questions that have me genuinely excited.

For now, *Atrum* is slated to arrive on PC via Steam. No firm release date yet, but "coming soon" is always a good sign, right? I'm definitely adding this one to my wishlist. The blend of Dark Fantasy aesthetics, fast-paced magic-based combat, and the intriguing narrative hook of a mage battling inner darkness has all the ingredients of a potentially great game. I'll be keeping a close eye on Duskwave Games and any further updates on *Atrum*. Stay tuned!
