Ferrari, never one to shy away from pushing boundaries, has unveiled something truly special: a "Tailor Made" 12Cilindri designed specifically for the South Korean market. And let me tell you, this isn't just a paint job and some fancy stitching. This is a full-blown artistic collaboration, blurring the lines between automotive engineering and fine art.
Ferrari 12Cilindri: THIS Korean Twist Will Leave Y...
The project, a nearly two-year undertaking, involved the Ferrari Styling Centre, the creative minds at COOL HUNTING, and a quartet of talented young Korean artists: Daehye Jeong, Hyunhee Kim, GRAYCODE jiiiiin, and TaeHyun Lee. Think of it as a bespoke suit, only instead of Savile Row, it's Maranello, and instead of tweed, it's a screaming V12 engine.
What’s really striking is how deeply rooted this car is in Korean tradition. Daehye Jeong, for example, has reimagined traditional horsehair weaving, incorporating iconic motifs into the seats, floor, and even the glass roof. Imagine that – a hand-woven dashboard in a Ferrari! It's the kind of detail that makes you stop and think about the craftsmanship involved. Hyunhee Kim brings a translucent touch to both the exterior and interior, reimagining traditional Korean objects in a modern context. It's subtle, but definitely adds to the overall feeling of sophisticated artistry. Then there's TaeHyun Lee, whose white detailing – from the brake calipers to the paddle shifters – provides a crisp, clean counterpoint to the other, more elaborate designs.
But the most audacious element, in my opinion, comes from sound artist GRAYCODE jiiiiin. He's transformed the Ferrari V12's unmistakable roar into a visual spectacle on the car's body. We're talking about merging sound, light, and color in a way that Ferrari says is unprecedented. It's hard to even wrap your head around that, but the concept of visualizing the engine's power is undeniably cool.
Evan Orensten and Josh Rubin of COOL HUNTING, along with JaeEun “Jane” Lee, curated the project, ensuring a harmonious blend of contemporary art, tradition, and Ferrari's legendary engineering prowess. It's a delicate balance, but from the images, it seems they've pulled it off beautifully. This isn’t just a car; it's a statement. It exemplifies Ferrari's vision of performance as an art form, a rolling sculpture that demands attention wherever it goes. It's a bold move, and one that reaffirms Ferrari's commitment to pushing the boundaries of what's possible. I can't wait to see what they come up with next.
