Title: Crew-11 Back on Terra Firma, Set to Discuss Space Station Mission

After a stellar 167 days orbiting our planet, the NASA SpaceX Crew-11 is back on solid ground and ready to share their experiences. The crew, comprised of NASA astronauts Zena Cardman and Mike Fincke, JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) astronaut Kimiya Yui, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Oleg Platonov, will be holding a news conference this Wednesday, January 21st, at 2:15 p.m. EST at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston. They’ll be diving into the details of their scientific expedition aboard the International Space Station (ISS), and trust me, space nerds, you won't want to miss this.

Space Station Secrets REVEALED! What NASA's Crew-1...

The crew touched down off the coast of San Diego on January 15th – a welcome return after months of zero gravity. They arrived in Houston on Friday and are currently undergoing the standard postflight reconditioning and evaluations that are crucial after an extended stint in space. It's a pretty rigorous process, ensuring they reacclimate properly to Earth's gravity and overall environment.

For those eager to tune in, NASA will be providing live coverage via their YouTube channel and other online platforms, including their various social media accounts. So, whether you're a seasoned space enthusiast or just curious about what life is like up there, you'll have plenty of avenues to watch. And if you are on X, you can use #AskNASA to pose questions!

Members of the media are also invited to attend either in person at Johnson Space Center or virtually. If you're planning to attend in person, you needed to have contacted the NASA Johnson newsroom by 5 p.m. CST on Tuesday, January 20th, which means this is a late update if you're just reading this. If, by some miracle, you're reading this *before* that deadline, you can reach them at jsccommu@mail.nasa.gov or 281-483-5111. Phone-in participants should dial in at least 10 minutes before the start of the conference to ensure they're able to ask questions. Getting through the phone lines for these events can sometimes be challenging, speaking from past experience.

During their five-plus months in space, the Crew-11 logged some serious mileage, traveling nearly 71 million miles and completing over 2,670 orbits around Earth. But it wasn't just a joyride; they were busy bees, conducting hundreds of science experiments and technology demonstrations. This work is critical for furthering our understanding of space and paving the way for future missions, including those to the Moon and Mars.

It's all part of NASA’s Commercial Crew Program, which aims to provide safe, reliable, and cost-effective transportation to and from the ISS through partnerships with private companies. This is a game changer, because it's expanding access to low Earth orbit for more research, more opportunities, and ultimately, a greater understanding of the universe around us. And to think, 25 years of continuous human presence on the ISS - that's quite the accomplishment.

You can follow the latest NASA space station news, images, and features on Instagram, Facebook, and X. Stay curious, folks, the future of space exploration is looking brighter than ever!
